 Dirt Cheap Barrier

Maximum protection, lowest cost
if the space is available...

Issues:

bullet

For the added expense of a simple concrete footing that is uniformly level, the assembly is easier because the alignment time is reduced. However, the footing does not materially improve the resistance to the kinetic energy of a moving vehicle in an impact event.

bullet

Force protection is dramatically increased as the depth of the berm is increased. The 6 foot depth will resist in the range of 15,000 lb @ 50 mph.
